Transferring the ownership of a pre-owned car within the initial 30 days of buying is compulsory in India, without which you can be charged a fine of Rs.500 by the traffic police. • NOC from the bank if the vehicle is hypothecated for a car loan
• Attested copy of proof of address
• Attested copy of the valid driving license of the vehicle owner
• Attested copy of PUC Certificate
• Form 60 or Form 61
• Passport-size photos of the applicant
• Credit score

Stage 3: Road tax payment

The road tax must be paid if you have purchased a car from any other state in India other than Bangalore. However, you can apply for a refund of road tax by submitting the following paperworks:

• Copy of the old registration certificate
• Copy of the new registration certificate
• Proof of address
• Proof of identification
• Updated and signed Form 16
• Insurance policy with new registration number
